I am a visual guy
I design and develop graphic solutions to visual communication challenges. In short, I make you look good by making you, well, look good. Every aspect of your project, from conception to implementation, will be creatively and professionally executed, and together we work as a team to create a winning solution.
Over the past 20+ years I’ve been a Senior Print and Web Designer, Interactive Art Director, Interface Designer, Video Animation Designer, Associate Creative Director, Adjunct Associate Professor, Art Director, Project Manager, Partner, Mentor, Principal and Founder. I've worked with teams in environments that include an internet consulting and development firm, a software development company, two University of Michigan in-house communications units, the U-M School of Art & Design, and a design / advertising firm. I've also worked solo, having run my own freelance business for over 13 years, collaborating with some really fantastic clients (see list at right).
I earned my B.F.A. (and started my M.A. degree) in graphic design at the U-M School of Art & Design, and strongly believe in continuing education, having completed numerous post-degree independent courses in varied graphic, marketing and leadership disciplines. I am fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software packages, plus, I regularly utilize specialty software that will make your project stand out from the crowd. All the details and more can be found in my resume and by exploring the 3 categories (directly above) to see a small sampling of my print, identity and screen projects.
From corporate annual reports and clinical educational videos, to playful toy packages and outspoken diva websites, I’ve met the challenges of creating designs that work. If you’re looking for a print, web and interactive designer with corporate and academic marketing communication savvy and a keen visual eye, I’d like to work with you.
My name is jon alan dornoff. I love design. And I am a visual guy.
